Wow, it's February once again. How time flies! I didn't make any posts here for the past few weeks already. I'm sorry for that. It's not easy to maintain six blogs. I wish I have some super powers to update all my blogs at the same time, lol!

The month of February marks the celebration of Panagbenga in Baguio City or in other words Flower Festival. Hubby and I are considering to go to Baguio to see the Panagbenga 2012. We were not able to go there last year because I was in the hospital. We were there the other year (2010) but then my auntie passed away so we didn't stay long.

The most memorable one we've seen was in 2009 and that was hubby's first time to witness Panagbenga. We just got here in my homeland from the US that time. I took hubby there in Baguio to see the festival. He got the chance to see the landscape contest, street dancing and float parade. We enjoyed it but the only drawback was the very thick crowd. Hubby don't like crowded places and he said next time we will just watch it on TV, lol!

It was my hubby's first time to attend the Panagbenga in Baguio in 2009. We just arrived from the US that time and I took hubby there to watch the Panagbenga meaning Flower Festival. It has been his dream to go and watch it since I've been telling him how nice and beautiful it was. I've been attending the past festivals before I went to the US. My siblings and I went up in Baguio every year just to witness the said event. Lots and lots of people flocked to Baguio every year to watch it. You will see people every where. I know hubby don't like the crowd but he endured it just to watch it for the first time. We went to Burnham Park where the Landscaping Contest was being shown. We had to pay P30 each for the entrance fee. It was high because it was the opening day. The next day we went again and it went down to P10 each. We took pictures of the landscape entries. They were so beautiful and each landscape entry was unique. The landscapers were so creative. The winners were announced on the last week of the festival and they chose 3 winners, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We've been to Baguio many times since we came back here in my homeland. I lost count how many times we went up there and visited the place.  Last 2009, we went up there and stayed for a while. My hubby had a good time there because he didn't sweat a lot unlike here in the lowland. The weather there is nice and cool. Hubby had been doing his daily walk there and he impressed me because he went out walking 3 to 5 times a day. He never did that here in our town. He said it's too hot to go out walking here. If only we have the money, we would like to buy a house there. I just keep wishing and praying. Who knows, God will grant us our desire in His time. Anyways, here are some pics of us taken in Baguio last 2009.

As I've mentioned in my previous post, my hubby loved to stay in Baguio City while he was in the Philippines. I took 3 weeks vacation leave from my job that time and we went to Baguio and stayed there. We went to visit Mines View Park, Botanical Garden, The Mansion House, PMA, Camp John Hay, Bell Church, Sunshine Park, Wright Park and of course Burnham Park. My hubby was so impresed with the beauty of the parks there in Baguio City. He told me that it put most of the parks here in the US to shame.

We stayed at my brother-in-law's house in Camp Allen and it was just a walking distance to the public market and Burnham Park. We often go to the market and bought some fresh fruits, vegetables and fish. My hubby loved the pandesal there and we were a regular customer at a bakery in Kayang St. During afternoons, we walked to Burnham Park and we played badminton there. Sometimes we just sat at Malcom Square and just watched people passing by. My hubby felt so relaxed there, no pressure in his job, just eat, sleep, walk and relax. Those were the days, the good old days...

My hubby has been wanting to watch the Panagbenga or Flower Festival in Baguio. God's willing he will be able to watch it next year. I used to watch it yearly when I was still there. It is really a big event in the City Of Pines every year during the month of February.

It's been more than 5 years since we were in the Philippines. When I was still there, I often go to Baguio City with my siblings. My brother-in-law has a house there and that's where we stay. I've been to all the tourist spots in Baguio. I also studied in Saint Louis University, one of the famous universities in the city.

Baguio is a city in the mountains and it has lots of pine trees. The climate is the main attraction of Baguio because it's the summer capital of the Philippines. It's nice and cool. When I got married to my American husband, I took him to Baguio and he really like the place. In fact he wanted to buy a house there at that time but I told him it's not yet the right time because we will be leaving for the US. I took my hubby to all the tourist spots in Baguio while he was there. He spent almost 7 months in the Philippines the 3rd time he went there. Most of the time, we went to Baguio and stay there. Hubby really enjoyed his stay in the Philippines. We're so excited to go back there soon.
