Hubby and I miss the restaurants in Wichita Falls where we used to eat. In fact, we had eaten in almost all of the popular restaurants in that city. Our house was close to the business centers and it's just a few minutes drive to the mall and restaurants. We used to frequent the different buffet restaurants in that city especially during Sundays when hubby and I get out of church after service. So we were already familiar of their foods and we wanted to try a new place. One place that we went to eat for the first time before we moved out of that city was Logan's.

I remember the buyer just paid our house that we sold that day, November 22, 2008 and after we deposited the check in the bank, my hubby and I went to eat lunch at Logan's to celebrate. Actually, we used the gift card that was given to me as a gift during my citizenship celebration by one of the couples in our church. We ate to our heart's delight. The foods at Logan's were really good. My hubby ordered his favorite chicken friend steak with french fries and macaroni and cheese plus his tea. I ordered fried chicken tenders, mashed potatoes with gravy and sweet potato baked. The foods were really great! So yummy to the tummy! We love Logan's and it's one of the best restaurants in that city.

Gardening is my hobby and it's a good therapy to me. Our yard is full of different plants and flowers. Below are my roses that I planted in front of our house in Texas more than 4 years ago. I'm really fond of gardening and I love planting flowers and vegetables. I love planting flowers that are perennial because they always come back each year. During spring, my flowers bloomed beautifully and of course I took some snapshots of them as my souvenir.

Well, it's the month of July already. Time pass by so quickly when you're having fun. Well, what do I remember about the month of July. One thing I know for sure, it's so hot in Texas during this time of the year. It was during this month that I was able to visit Six Flags Over Texas for the first time 4 years ago. 

Let me just walk down memory lane and write here about the visit. It was Monday, July 16 when we went to Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington together with the teenagers, kids and some adults in our church. My husband was not able to go because he has to work. We left at 7:00 AM and it was a two and half hour drive from Wichita Falls to Arlington. The park opens at 10:00 AM. I thought that there will not be a lot of people there because it was not a weekend but I was wrong. There were lots of people there. There were different kinds of rides but I just chose to ride the smooth rides. I’m chicken when it comes to riding those thrilling and adventurous rides like the Superman, Coobrila and the roller coaster rides. Oh my! Just looking at those rides makes me feel dizzy and weak. I just rode the train rides and the boat ride. I enjoyed riding the Boomtown Depot train because I was able to have sight-seeing around some parts of the park.

It was hot and humid at noon and in the afternoon, maybe the highest was mid 90’s but it was a good thing that they have those fans with mists all around the park and I liked to stay near them when I feel hot. It made me feel better. After roaming around the park and had picture, taking my feet became sore in the afternoon. So my friends and I just sat down across the Superman ride and watch the riders there. We left Six Flags at 9:30 PM and I got home about past 12 midnight. I really got tired because of too much walking and my husband said that I look darker because of too much exposure in the sun. I really don’t mind if my skin become darker as long as I have fun fun.

It's been 2 and 1/2 years since hubby and I are here in my homeland doing missionary work. Once In a while, we miss the foods that we used to eat and of course our favorite restaurant in the states. Every Sunday after service, we used to eat out in different restaurants. One of our favorites is Golden Corral. It was just a few minutes drive from our house. I always like the foods there and they are not greasy unlike the foods in Chinese buffet restaurants.

I remember that Golden Corral was the first restaurant where I ate when I just got in the US. We were traveling to Iowa that time and we stopped by at Golden Corral in Kansas to eat lunch. Hubby and I had tried almost all the buffet restaurants in Wichita Falls but still Golden Corral was the one I like best. I like their meatloaf, their chicken fried steak, veggies and especially their corn in the cob.

Here's one Sunday after church that we went to eat at Golden Coral a few years ago. While we were in the restaurant, I filled in 2 plates with foods because I don’t want to stand up again after I ate my first plate. Hubby was surprised and asked me if I can eat all the foods that I got. He knows that I don’t eat that much. I told him I’m too hungry and maybe I can eat it all. It took me a while to finish my food and both hubby and I were so full that there’s no more room for desserts. We had a good lunch that day. The foods were so delicious and yummy to the tummy. Well, the month of May had passed by so quickly. It's already the 1st of June today. I have lots of memories that happened in the month of May. It was in the month of May when I had my major surgery 15 years ago. That was a big blow on my part that almost knocked me down but God had been so faithful to me. I survived that trial by clinging to God and claiming His promises. It was a test of faith.

After the rain comes the sun. It was also in the month of May in 2002, six years later when I met my hubby in the internet. It started with a simple "hi" and "hello" until it developed into something special. We e-mailed each other regularly, then a few phone calls which lasted for 3 months until he decided to come to the Philippines, meet me personally and swept me off my feet. It feels so good to remember good memories that happened in the month of May...

... since we bought our economy and pre-loved car. It's time to register it again this month. Hubby and I wanted to buy a van but our budget didn't allow us. We can only afford an economy car so we can have our own transportation and we can go wherever we want to go like visitation and going to the villages to give out tracts and have a Bible study. Hubby and I would like to buy a van when we have enough money for our church ministry.

Wow, how time flies! It's been 7 years since hubby and I repeated our wedding vows in Texas on February 15, 2004. I still remember, it was my hubby's idea to have our wedding again in the US so his family, friends and relatives can attend. We got married in the Philippines on September 11, 2002 but nobody from his family attended because of the distance. So, we planned to get married on Valentine's Day but was canceled and postponed the next day due to snow.

So the next day which was Sunday, our wedding went on well at 2:00 PM. The sun was already shining. We held the wedding in Living Word Baptist Church where hubby was a member. Reception followed at the dining hall of the church. We prepared lots of beef briskets, lumpia, mashed potatoes, vegetable salad and some friends brought potato salad, beans, etc. We bought a wedding cake too. There were lots of leftover foods and we ate it after our Sunday night service.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day. This day reminds me of Valentine's day 7 years ago. It was during that day that hubby and I planned to repeat our wedding vows in Texas. We got married in the Philippines in September 11, 2002 but none of hubby's family was present. So he decided to have our wedding in the states so his family, friends and relatives can attend. We did the preparations, sent out invitations and cooked the foods at the night of February 13th. On the the next day, February 14th which was supposed to be our wedding, it snowed pretty bad. Texas is not used to have snow and I think the state doesn't have the necessary tools to clear out the roads from snow. So what hubby did, he called on the phone all the people that we invited and canceled our wedding that day and he re-scheduled it the next day, February 15th. Waahh! There goes my dream of having our wedding on hearts' day. Anyways, our wedding went well the next day. The sun was already shining and the snow was already melting. That's Texas weather, weird!
